Centre based respite
Position Objectives
To work as part of a team to provide centre-based respite to older persons and people with disabilities living in the community. Respect and maintain client dignity, their belongings, privacy and encourage all individual clients to make their own decisions and be independent.
Organisation Relationships
Service: Centre Based Respite Service
Responsible to: Staff of the Centre Based Respite Service Team
Volunteer Responsibilities
Willingness to be involved as an effective team member.
Provide social support by talking to clients / carers and responding to their needs within the constraints of the position.
Communicating any information regarding clients or carers relevant to the service back to the staff or co-ordinator.
Encouraging independence and promoting dignity for all clients.
Assist staff with activities when required.
Assist clients to participate in activities.
Attend training as required.
