Corporate Information
A volunteer Board of Management made up of community representatives governs the direction of Melville Cares. The Board is structured with a Chairperson, Deputy Chair
and Treasurer on the Executive. A further complement of ordinary members comprise the Board of Management. The primary role of the Board is in planning the future direction of Melville Cares, ensuring accountability requirements to stakeholders are met and best practice in all applicable areas of governance is maintained.
Board members emanate from a range of backgrounds incorporating business and accounting professionals and from the community. This diversity provides a range of views and expertise in forming the core of a balanced decision making process.
Management experience and qualifications stem from a finance and accounting backgrounds in commercial banking. Experience in aged care and an understanding of the associated issues was gained through the management of a multi-purpose community health organisation and a residential aged care facility. This experience has provided a view of the differing issues applicable to service provision in the community and residential care sectors.
