Functions

On Sunday the 20th July 2008 we had a Volunteer Support fundraiser with the movie Mamma Mia at the Cygnet theatre in South Perth. This movie was picked on the basis it would be enjoyable for all age groups and the music of ABBA is well known.

In my wisdom or a moment of madness, I decided it would be fun to dress up as the ABBA girls for the night to add a fun atmosphere. Having convinced Merryn from reception it would be fun and all right on the night, I was the one with cold feet as the time drew near.

We had a great turn out of over 100 people and everyone had a good laugh at our costumes, few people were slow to recognise us and when they did the look of shock was fun. Prizes were raffled on the night and people won CDs of the movie Mamma Mia, Bottles of wine, wool scarfs and chocolates. The feedback after the movie was very positive and everyone loved it. Some people danced out of the movie.
