History

Melville Cares Inc is a community based not for profit organisation founded on a core of volunteers. Our purpose is to enhance the quality of life of frail aged and disabled community members through supporting their wish to participate independently within the community.

From a small group of dedicated volunteers in 1984, Melville Cares has grown since incorporation in 1986, into an organisation employing 85 staff engaged in providing administrative or direct care services. Volunteers from the local community remain the backbone of the organisation and are 160 in total number. Volunteers and staff combined, currently provide support services to a client base of 2000 community members.
