Four of Melville Cares Community Visitors' Scheme volunteers were highlighted on the City of Melville’s website as part of volunteer week. These volunteer visitors told their stories to encourage others to visit with the elderly in the nursing homes and hostels within the City of Melville and learn more about life in the WA fifty plus years ago. The Community Visitors' Scheme is a one on one program which provides a volunteer visitor to a nursing home/hostel resident.

School Volunteers

We have had quite a few student volunteers through the school programs. The R & R program Coordinator Jenny has reported how well the students are doing with the clients. During the recent school holidays some students from schools in the area volunteered in the day centre which both volunteer and clients enjoyed.
